The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...sunlight and shadows dance on the big maple tree in the side yard.

I am thinking...that I should stick to my normal plan of never starting school the day after Labor Day next year.

I am thankful...for a husband who cares for me when my broken heart aches.

In the kitchen...BBQ chicken, macaroni salad, watermelon, baked beans, and layered lemon pie. Holiday cook-out meal!

I am wearing...super comfy black capris and a pink top that is equally as comfortable.

I am creating...plans for a fun, structured month of learning.

I am going...to feel less out of sorts tomorrow.

I am wondering...if the children will like the changes in curriculum I've made for this school year.

I am reading...teaching manuals, textbooks, and CD-ROM instructions.

I am hoping...for a peaceful, productive, exciting, joy-filled school year.

I am looking forward to...first day of school fun!

I am learning...that what others see as negative isn't necessarily so.

Around the house...cleaning, sorting, straightening, and preparing.

I am pondering...whether or not I have taken on too much.

A favorite quote for today...

One of my favorite things...the first day of school. It's always so much fun!

A few plans for the rest of the week...starting school, dance, and phys ed, preparing for the music class I'm teaching, choosing a Christmas musical for church (I just found out yesterday about this. YIKES!), and Lukas turns 12 on Friday.

  1. Hi! I hope you are having a great school day! I know exactly what you mean about pondering whether you have taken on too much =) But somehow, someway it all works out. One day at a time. That was my motto last year (I think I said it every day ~ haha) and it's pretty much what I keep reminding myself as I'm preparing for this year. Blessings, EMichelle
