The Simple Woman's Daybook #60

Outside my window...I watched as my children and husband soaked each other with gigantic super soakers and the hose.

I am thinking...about Lukas turning 9 and how terrific he is.

I am thankful for... all the friends and family who joined us to celebrate Lukas' birthday on Friday night. It was truly a blessing.

I am wearing... black shorts and an aqua tank.

I am remembering... the day Lukas was born.

I am creating... exciting learning plans.

I am going... to run all over the place tomorrow.

I am reading... The Soldier's Lady by Michael Philips, still. It's fantastic, but most of my time has been devoted to other things.

I am hoping... for peace to envelope a certain situation.

On my mind... getting school started.

From the learning rooms...  Creation, factors, Greek vocabulary roots, light, Narnia, A Mouse and a Motorcycle, and our first traditional Jewish Sabbath.

Noticing that... when the most important things are addressed, everything else is easier.

From the kitchen... delicious corn salad with turkey cutlets.

Around the house... organization!!!

One of my favorite things... enjoying summer dinners in the back yard with my three favorite people.

Praying for... continued ability to do the next thing.

A Lyric or two... When I am most stressed or super busy, I turn to instrumental music. This week I've enjoyed some of my favorite CDs. Soundtracks from The Last of the Mohicans, Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, and Titanic and some of my all-time favorite works by great composers like Grieg's Peer Gynt, Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet and Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

A verse to share...Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1

A few plans for the week... Shopping for groceries and school supplies, a trip to the Bexley library, final school area prep, the start of school, choir rehearsals, and a 30th birthday party for a dear friend this weekend.

A picture thought to share with you...

A fantastic idea for Lukas' Lego Star Wars party inspired by my husband and created by my mom who saved me some time when I was in a pinch.
