The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...is a drizzly-warm December evening.

I am thinking...about Christmas things. Decorating. One tree or two? 25 days of Christmas?

I am thankful...that we live here. The time which I have been able to share with my mom has been irreplaceable.

In the kitchen...leftovers. Days spent at the hospital require a little extra downtime in the evening.

I am wearing...
purple PJs.

I am creating...
a meal plan and grocery list.

I am going...to stay home this evening and let my mother rest (at her request).

I am wondering...what our Christmas celebration will look like this year.

I am reading...Psalms.

I am hoping...for time and conversation.

I am looking forward to...
Christmas shopping for my kids.

I am learning...that trusting God makes everything easier, but it does not make things easy.

Around the house...floors will be cleaned, furniture re-arranged, and a Christmas tree assembled and decorated (tomorrow)!

I am pondering...How much information to share with my kids. How much to shelter, and how much to share. Striking the balance isn't so easy when life implodes. Sometimes, I give them too little, and sometimes I give them too much.

One of my favorite things...
A Charlie Brown Christmas.

A few plans for the rest of the week... schooling the kids at home or the hospital, visiting Mom, getting Mom settled at home (I hope), Live Nativity at our church this weekend!

A photo to share...
